Travel: Baguio's Cold Breeze Made Me Forget It's Already Summer

Two weeks ago, my good friend Jesa and I were planning for our weekend getaway / my post-birthday celebration. We both decided to beat the heat by going to the coldest place in the country, Baguio. As soon as we decided when to go, we booked a hotel and bought bus tickets. Both were a smooth transaction, thanks to Agoda and Victory Liner's online ticketing system.

When we got to Victory Liner Cubao, we waited for a few minutes until our bus arrived. The bus arrived 10 minutes prior to ETD and left at exactly 6 in the morning. It was a 7 hour ride with only two stopovers, Tarlac and Sison- the best thing about these stopovers is that the place were already serving food by the time we got there and the restrooms had 20 cubicles so there was almost no line. Imagine having to wait in line after holding it in for 3 hours- que horror. Lol Read More

Fashion: The Grunge Comeback

Disclaimer: Photos in this post are not mine.

Photo by Steven Meisel (Vogue, 1992)

Grunge fashion was once considered a mismatched scenic outfit that appears to be dark and tattered. It was a cultural intersection between music and poverty and wasn't supposed to be fashionable according to author Ali Basye. This style was so deviant that it actually became a fashion statement on its own by depicting an attitude that doesn't bother to be on-trend or "normal". It was characterized by over-sized sweaters, beanies, ripped denims, sneakers, mismatched colors or prints. Read More

Personal: (Random Thought of the Day) Valentine's Day is not just for Couples

And Valentine's Day is not supposed to be the only time where people get to express their love for one another.
But sadly, people nowadays need a reason to tell someone they love them.

Today, I've decided to do something for a change. I didn't greet anyone a happy valentine but rather, I wrote down all the reasons why I love them and why they are special to me. I am not giving these out today, though. I want to personally hand it to them so whenever I bump with any one of these people, I'll give them a handwritten love letter. It might be a little awkward at first but they'll appreciate it for sure.

Fashion: Cupid's Just Around the Corner

It's that time of the year again where everyone seems to be extra romantic -cheesy, even. I honestly couldn't think of the perfect quote for this occasion 'cause there's just so many!

For those of you who's in a relationship, you're probably preparing for this day all week! This might even be the second best day you've been waiting for next to your anniversary (unless your anniversary falls on the same day). This is the time where guys walking around with a huge balloon and a bouquet of flowers in hand is a normal sight and everywhere you go, you see couples being oh so sweet- this could be a sad view for us single ladies and gents...NAAAH, JUST KIDDING.

Anyway, if you still don't have an outfit for whatever your plan for tomorrow is... Here are some of my outfit idea:

....and I'm back!

What a shame.

What kind of a blogger are you, Ms. C? You post one freaking blog and then go on with your life without even updating once in a while?

Okay okay I know, my bad. I'm so sorry. I've had quite a lot of personal problems these past few months but this time I am back for good! No more boo-hoos!

Stay in touch!

Fashion: Get to know Ms. Charmaine

I've always had a burning passion for fashion. It took me quite some time before I pursued what I love most but nonetheless, it was worth it. Despite the 8 long years of hiatus in designing, I came back to fulfill my dream and even worked on a new skill: Fashion Styling.

Right after college graduation, I started designing again given that I had a lot of time to spare but it was more than just a past-time, it was a decision- a decision to put to life a dream that has long been forgotten. Just like every person who -at one point- gave up on their dream, I needed a little push to fire me up.

I gave Fashion Styling a shot. Honestly, I never had any background or experience in professional styling before this. The only styling experience I had was helping my friends and my brother when shopping for new clothes and putting together an outfit.

The following photos are from my first ever collection as a stylist:

 Model: Joan Gudito
Outerwear: Petit Monde
Dress (belt included): Tomato
Shoes: Leaveland
